The methodology adopted by Netways Project Management Office, is based on the fact that Project Management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service. Temporary means that every project has a definite beginning and a definite end. Unique means the product or service is different in some distinguishing way from all other products or services. This methodology caters/supplies to all Netways customers, irrespective of the size and volume of the undertaken project, enables the customer to experience a smooth transition towards e-Technologies. IT project has both a Project Life Cycle PLC and a System Development Life Cycle SDLC. The project life cycle (PLC) encompasses all the activities of the project, while the systems development life cycle (SDLC) is focused on accomplishing the product requirements. Netways constructed its project methodology on the top of “Project Management Institute methodology” (PMI) for the PLC, and on the top of Microsoft Solution Framework (MSF) for the SDLC.
Although there is a definite overlap and merging of activities between the models, it is important that the project manager realize that the PLC encompasses all the activities of the project, whereas the SDLC focuses on the activities of the product. Each of the PLC and SDLC is handled by one project manager assigned by the PMO and a Team Leader assigned by the Technical Team.
Both project life cycles assure a proper technical quality along with proper customer service and guarantee a successful project delivery.
